Interview with a theatre specialist – with Florian Wilke

Florian: I see myself as an all-rounder of event technology and have been working for years at the interface between artistic and technical realisation of projects. I find the combination of artistic interests and technical possibilities exciting.
What exactly is the attraction of this job?
I am fascinated by the exciting design of light and video in the theatre. How video content can be individually controlled, so that it can have a surprising effect in the theatre!
Your experiences and projects?
For many years I worked in the technical department of the Bremen Shakespeare Company. These were good years, which enriched my wealth of experience enormously. My specialization has always been in the field of video.
You could do something about that?
I was responsible for lighting and projection concepts for the productions and was entrusted with adapting them to guest performances.
